Voting Week

This school year has been filled with exciting guests and special trips. This past week, the students took part in Voting Week. Students learned about the importance of voting through holding mock elections in the classroom. Chip Forrester, Party Chair of the Tennessee Democratic Party, did a presentation on Wednesday in which he stressed the importance of voting. Students who were not already registered to vote completed voter registration forms which will enable them to vote in the upcoming November election.

Also, on Friday, our class took a special field trip to the Tennessee State Capitol and took a tour of the historic building. They learned names of important Tennesseans who had been voted into office. After the tour they independently ordered lunch at a nearby Subway restaurant.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I love the great pictures of the group. It is great to be a part of this website. Kenny can not stop talking about this class everyday.

  2. Hello,

I am Jonathan’s proud aunt Lisa P., and this picture shows that infectious big smile which we so love.

Please give Jon our love, and tell the other students that Jon’s family is sending love from Ohio!

    Hugs,
    (Aunt) Lisa Phillippi
