It’s been a while since this page has been updated, so there is a lot to talk about! On October 29th the students visited historic Travellers Rest Plantation and Museum. Students learned about the historic significance of this site which was built in 1799.
After visiting Travellers Rest, students ordered food at Subway and had a picnic lunch at Centennial Park. It was a great day for a picnic! Below is a picture of the students posing in front of the Parthenon replica in the park.
One of the job sites set up through the Community Based Transition Program is Schrader Lane Day Care. Every Thursday, students interact with the children by teaching lessons, playing games and singing songs. Last Thursday, the students taught the children “The Hokey Pokey”. The children really enjoyed it and have developed a great rapport with the CBTP students. Check out the picture of the students singing and dancing below. If you look closely, you also might see Mr. L with his guitar!
Have a good week and keep checking the page for more updates. Remember, the students love reading the comments you all leave!
