It’s hard to believe but we are three quarters into the 2011-2012 school year. Before you know it, it will be summertime! There have been many exciting changes and additions at the Vanderbilt Community Based Transition Program within the last couple months. Below, check out photos which highlight all the exciting things that have been happening.
First of all, we would like to send a sincere thank you to Hercules Stands and Mr. Manuel Delgado from Delgado Guitars. Manuel is a third generation luthier who makes musical string instruments, including guitars. Last December, the Vanderbilt CBTP received free guitars from Little Kids Rock (as noted on my previous post). Upon learning about this, Manuel was eager to help out by arranging for ten guitar hangers to be donated to the class from Hercules Stands. These hangers are a stylish AND practical way to store our new instruments. You can learn more about Manuel’s company, products, and services at www.delgadoguitars.com. For information about Hercules products, visit www.herculesstands.com.
Another thank you goes out to the Holiday Inn Vanderbilt, particularly Mr. Richard from the engineering department, for donating four conference chairs for the classroom office. These chairs will be used for meetings and conferences. We appreciate it!
Lastly, a big thank you goes out to Mr. & Mrs. H. who supplied the classroom with brand new dish ware and silverware. Students are learning the importance of preparing a meal, setting a table and washing dishes.
Aside from rocking out and enjoying our new furniture, students have been doing work and experiencing the community. Enjoy these photos!
