Intercession week for Project SEARCH

Intercession week is a very important time for our interns to put their community skills into action.  We went to the Downtown and Antioch library, Opry Mills and Rivergate Mall, Ford Ice Center and Community center, grocery  shopping at Kroger, practiced restaurant ordering skills, visited Project SEARCH at Vanderbilt and most importantly we learned how to navigate the MTA bus system to go to different parts of town.

Project SEARCH class at Vanderbilt Children’s hosted us for a brunch. We enjoyed taking a tour of their classroom and work sites. We also ate lunch at the hospital cafeteria.

Interns applied for library cards at the new Antioch library. We also toured the Ford Ice Center, and new Community Center and ate lunch at Zaxby’s.

Interns went to the downtown library, we toured the Nashville Civil Rights museum and learned how students from Fisk and TSU made a difference in the Civil Rights movement.
